Budget Review 2009/10: Implications for the Construction Industry

Friday, 20th February 2009

The 2009 Budget embraces our democracy, it's needs, challenges and prospects. It again prioritises those things that matters most, including education and health services, but does not lose sight of the dire need to secure our future through the decisions and actions we take today. With no investment today, there can't be a future tomorrow. Nothing is more relevant when referring to the need for adequate investment in infrastructure. The 2009 Budget did not deviate from its commitment to improve our country's infrastructure, despite having to deal with unprecedented global and domestic economic. The real challenge therefore is to ensure that theory becomes reality, that plans can be put into action, that budgets become payments. The review includes information about actual and expected infrastructure expenditure over the next three years. The full report is availalbe to clients at www.industryinsight.co.za (go to Reports: 2009). For a copy of the report please contact Alicia Lombard at 021 557 4168 or send an e-mail to alicia@industryinsight.co.za.
