About - CEO: Industry Insight
After completing her B.Com degree in 1990, Mrs Snyman started her career as supervisor in the Statistics and Masterfle division at Cement Distributors SA. During this time, she received a national Microsoft award for the Best achiever in Personal computing. With the dismantlement of the cement cartel in 1994, she accepted an offer from PPC Cement to pioneer the Market intelligence department, where she actively pursued the development of national as well as regional statistical - and market analysis for the cement industry.
In 1997 she accepted a position at the Building Industries Federation South Africa (BIFSA), recently renamed as "Master Builders South Africa", where she became actively involved in developing all aspects relating to management information for stakeholders in the building industry, including contractors, materials suppliers, government departments, academic - and financial institutions. Resources were shared for a limited period between BIFSA and the South African Federation of Civil Engineering Contractors (SAFCEC) and she was subsequently appointed Manager of the joint Economics Department. Whilst being closely involved with construction economics she realized the growing urgency for supplementary construction data and has for the past seven years developed an alternative primary source of construction statistics, which evolved into a joint partnership with Databuild, a leading supplier of project information to the construction industry for the past 30 years. From this relationship emerged a new company, Industry Insight (Pty) Ltd in 2001. As the founder, and CEO of Industry Insight (Pty) Ltd, she utilises more than a decade of experience in the industry to provide regular news, reviews, and forecasts on a national and provincial level, thereby creating a better understanding of the broader macro environment embracing the construction industry, whilst maintaining a close view of short to medium term developments in the construction sector.
Mrs Snyman is also part owner of a successful company in Cape Town, which manufacturers and supplies various types of mouldings to the construction sector, giving her real hands on experience of issues affecting players in the industry.
